<B>Azacitidine (Vidaza)</B> Azacitidine was the first medicine approved specifically to treat MDS. It can be used by both low- and high-risk patients with all subtypes of MDS. In some patients it can prevent the growth of abnormal bone marrow stem cells and improve blood counts.
