Fingolimod (Gilenya ) is an immunosuppressive medication taken by mouth. It was shown to reduce MS attacks and decrease disability. However, it has some potentially dangerous side effects, such as a slow heart rate, vision and liver problems, among others. Strict follow up and supervision by a healthcare provider is a must.
